Dear Members
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you on supporting the club throughout the year and hope you will continue to support and represent us in the future, listed below is some information following on from our latest committee meeting.
CCC Members Facebook Page
You may all be aware that we have recently added the ‘CCC Members Facebook Page’. This is ideal for discussion between the members and is proving to work well. We encourage all members to use this page.
We would like to take this opportunity to remind all members that Carrick Cycling Club is not officially run on Facebook. Official communication between the committee and members is via e-mail and any proposals or issues with the club must be presented to a committee member via e-mail at the following address committee@carrickcc.org The committee will then endeavour to discuss any proposals or issues as soon as possible.
The use of social media should only be for a positive manner towards the club. Any negative comments placed on the ‘Carrick Cycling Club’s’ public Facebook page will be removed by a committee member.
Christmas Dinner
The Christmas dinner is organised for Saturday 5th December 2015 at Ownies Bar and Bistro, Carrickfergus. The remaining monies are due and menu choices are to be confirmed to Aaron Bell by 21st November 2015.
Aaron has proposed to hold a couple of 1 hour sessions in either Creed Coffee or Ownies to allow members to call in and pay their money. Aaron will inform the members of this on the ‘CCC Members Facebook Page’
AGM
The proposed date and location for the AGM is Monday 18th January 2016 at Ownies Carrickfergus. Date and time still to be confirmed. You will receive an e-mail shortly before with regards to the running of the AGM.
Club Kit
The previous club kit order is due for delivery this Friday 13th November, Leigh will inform members when the kit is here and ready for collection on CCC Members Facebook Page.
The next order date was discussed and agreed for end of February / start of March 2016 to allow people to get Christmas over and get the kit for the Majorca trip in April 2016.
Club Runs
The committee have agreed that there will be 4 groups for club runs leading up to the AGM. The groups and average speeds will be:
A Group17+ mph average
B Group14-17 mph average
B2 Group12-14 mph average
C Group10-12 mph average
We understand that these averages are targets and can change depending on weather and numbers. However, if you are participating on a club run, please take note of the average speed for your selected group. If you are struggling to maintain the pace or if the pace is too slow, we would encourage you to reconsider what group you ride in.
Groups may change on the day due to weather, numbers etc but we will aim to cater for all each week.
A general post will be posted on the public Facebook page and then the individual runs on the members page on the Thursday before each Club run. Each route will be briefed on the morning of the run as they will be dependent on weather and numbers.
We will be holding a ‘ladies only’ club run within the next couple of weeks. Louise will organise this and be in touch with all the ladies. It will be catered to suit all abilities.
Now that the weather is changing please note that mudguards and lights are now a necessity if you are coming out on the club runs.
Membership Cards
We are looking into updating our online membership cards to include emergency contact details. It would be very much appreciated if you could print this card off and carry it with you on any Club runs.
